The Better Chunk Loaders plugin is what provides player initiated Chunk Loading for our SkyFactory, Horizons III, and Special Sauce servers. On SkyFactory, each player starts out with 9 online only chunkloaders. More Online as well as Offline (called Always On in the plugin) are available via our donor store. (be sure you are shopping in the correct store section for the server you are playing on). On Special Sauce and Horizons III, players start with no loaders. If you want to load chunks, you will need to purchase ChunkLoaders in the donor store (again, be sure to shop under the section for the server you are playing on).
CREATE A CHUNKLOADER: When building your base with chunkloading in mind, be sure to use F9 to see the chunk borders so you can layout accordingly to reduce the number of chunks you will need to load. To create an Online Chunkloader, place an Iron Block down and click it with a Blaze Rod to open the GUI. (see below) To create an Offline (always on) Chunkloader, place a Diamond Block and click it with a Blaze Rod to open the GUI. (see below). The Offline chunkloaders will keep your chunks loaded for up to 48 hours after you log out. After 48 hours, your chunkloader will turn off until you log back in.
CHUNKLOADERS ARE ONLY PERMITTED IN THE OVERWORLD UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY STAFF (not likely)
BCL COMMANDS. To see the number of chunks you have, do /BCL Bal This will show you the total number of chunks in your account. It does not reflect how many you have used vs how many you available. To see your existing chunkloaders use /BCL list online and /BCL list alwayson. This will show the current number of active loaders you have running so you can compare to your /bcl bal and see how many more you have to load.
CHUNKLOADER GUIs: The GUI of the chunkloaders allows you to define the size the loader is actually loading. I am providing some sample screenshots to show the chunkloader GUI.
This is a newly place chunkloader. The glass bottles at the top will allow you to select how many chunks it is loading.
The 1st bottle loads 1 Chunk.
The 2nd bottle loads 9 chunks in a 3z3 shape (muliple chunks are always loaded in a square shape with the center chunk being where the loader is placed.
Each bottle loads a progressively larger area by adding rows all the way around the outside of the previous. For example, the 5th bottle loads a 9x9 area for 81 chunks (seriously though, thats a LOT of chunks and I can't see any good reason for anyone to load that much so yea...)
If you open the GUI again after creating the loader and selecting the size, you will see the bottle representing the size you selected is now a "water bottle" and you will also see the redstone torch on the left side. To diable that loader, simple click the redstone torch.
